PETROCHEMICALS, REFINERIES AND FERTILIZERS APICORP is a market leader in arranging finance for petrochemical and fertilizer projects in the Arab world. It has an extensive knowledge of the petrochemical and fertilizer industries in the region, acquired not only through its experience as a lead arranger of debt but through its experience as an investor. With regard to petrochemicals, the main financing activity has been directed towards projects which produce bulk chemicals, to be exported from the region. On a highly selected basis the Corporation will consider finance for speciality chemicals. With regard to fertilizers, the Corporation finances the construction of plants which will produce nitrogenous fertilizers: the mandate of the Corporation does not extend to the financing of inorganic fertilizers. The Corporation has extensive experience in the financing of crude oil and condensate refineries. This experience extends throughout the Arab world and outside the region, where there is either a major Arab investor or where there is a long term supply contract with an Arab producer.
